The official Sebastian Junger community

Dear Mr. Junger and all readers of WAR,

Greetings from a small Swedish town not far from the Arctic Circle.

I´d really like to know if the German combat veteran & author Ernst Junger has meant anything to Sebastian Junger. If you know the answer to that one or want to read a Swedish take (in English) on the book, check out my blog: http://larsgyllenhaal.blogspot.com/2010/11/waiting-for-taliban.html

Kind regards,

Lars

Hi Lars -

I am not related to Ernst Junger that I know of, though I have read his work. And thank you for your blog, by the way...

Best,

Sebastian
Hi Sebastian,

OK, that would have been just too good, i.e. being related to him ;-)

Sure am looking forward to watching "Restrepo".

Cheers,

Lars
Wow, what a great blog post! I'll share it over on my blog sometime this week. Probably on Friday. FYI, my husband is a surgeon in the U.S. Army. His forebears came from Sweden. He was also the surgeon at Camp Wright, just a stones throw from the Korengal. Being able to see the film and read the book gave me a better idea of the terrain and also the level of injury he saw at the Forward Surgical Team hospital.
