I hate the fact that our soldiers being pestered by fleas in their outposts. I wonder if anyone can get this information to them about controlling them. Back in the day before Frontline for dogs and cats, as a kid, my home would get flea infestations from time to time and we had a nifty trick to control them. Take a shallow pan (an empty pie tin, even a plate with a lip works) put in water and just a drop of dish detergent (anything to break the surface tension of the water). At night or when it's dark, shine a light (maybe they could rig up a flashlight, or even candle light reflected) so that it's as close to the water or shining into it as possible. The fleas are drawn to the light, jump toward it, and land in the water where they sink and drown. It's fun to watch when you are bored as a bonus!
