Just finished the book. Had to post something.
And maybe you do too.
I had to see the faces of the guys I was reading about. They look exactly how I pictured them.
As someone who is so averse to the idea of being enlisted I got arrested on purpose because I thought they wouldn't take me (I was wrong), I was taken in by Junger's expert narrative, and I felt like I knew what he and they had been through, even though I might as well say I know what Jesus would say to a leprechaun if he saw a polar bear riding a unicorn.
Anyway, glad you guys made it. In more ways than one.

I finished the book a few days ago. Power read it in two days. Now I've got my wife reading it. What an amazing book. It's completely taken over my life now and I'm even dreaming about how hard life would be for these guys. I sincerely wish these boys all the happiness in life and hope they can find some sort of "normalness" (if that's a word). Thanks to all involved, a great service done.
