Dear all,
I posted this on the blog-site earlier, I'm new here so I don't really know who comes across the info, but I would like this to be adressed to the soldiers.
I'm a teacher in Military English in the Swedish Armed Forces and more specificly in the Army branches.
I teach officer cadets, NCOs and also employed captains in logistics English on a weekly basis. Right now as I'm writing this my NCO cadets are reading your book and preparing for seminars they hold every other week. They record their seminars with a video camera and I give them feedback afterwards. The discussions they have are really great! I have given them some bulletpoints to launch from when discussing e.g: In part one Fear: stress during attack, remembering and forgetting, the enemy, coming back to civilian life and communications with an interpreter.
I would like to know if there is a possibility to have someone here to give a lecture on War/Restrepo. Just to give their point of view and lead a discussion with our cadets. It would be really great since we work so hard with the book and we are going to watch the film as well, and the learning output would be good if we can finish with a lecture with someone who took part "out there". Everything would of course be organized by the Swedish Armed Forces.
Best regards,
Mari Luur Söderlund
