I have been working hard for the Restrepo family to bring this film to the Pembroke Pines area, and I believe it is now playing in one or more north Miami locations. I contacted a number of newspapers and TV stations as well, got very positive responses, and several interviews are currently being generated; some have already been completed and published. The more media attention, the more people will see the film, and the more Juan will be remembered and his legacy acknowledged.
I have emphasized to these media contacts that the third anniversary of Juan's death (July 22) is fast-approaching and that something very special in the community needs to take place. I'm not privy to the inner workings of what may (hopefully) be in the planning stages, but I do hope there will be a public honoring of this man, who by all accounts, was an extraordinary individual.
Good luck with your wonderful gesture in Fort Lauderdale!Katarina

You might also consider a brick at the 173rd Memorial in Columbus Ga. I understand and support the local memorial. But Doc Restrepo is now more than just a florida boy. To Sebastian and Tim's credit you can almost say he is the national face of the OEF casualty. The very fact that a cross generational tribute from an older warrior to a younger makes me still believe in US.
