Thank you, Wilson, for inventing a better "Mouse" trap, and for your generations of service. I was born at night, but not LAST night, so I cannot fathom how anyone can refer to McChrystal's exit as "Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword" when it was clearly "Fall on the Sword" for the sake of the mission. History will out Eikenberry, Hollbrook and their "leadership's" ineptitude. Hopefully fewer will be cannon fodder casualties because of Gen. McChrystal's honor and sacrifice.

Just scanned your photos ... Your are a marine press agent, actually demagogue is more appropriate.
The photo comment about Marine COIN... Haiti, Nicaragua.... the army had the Philippines... My Great Grandfather was in the C Company, 7th Infantry and fought in the Samar Campaign .... in fact I think his unit relieved the Marine unit that went nuts there.

Got you number Jar Head.

Yes, you would think so. But lets look at the record: Wanat - the Army ignored the Natonski report. Incidentally, the Marines who fought at Wanat did not have the same problem with their weapons 'overheating." Keating - another Army debacle where no senior leaders were held accountable for an inept defense that cost the lives of their junior soldiers. Abu Gharab? Anyone in authority cashiered here? Pat Tillman scandal? Oh, we're back to Stanley McChrystal who deliberately forwarded data he knew to be wrong. If you find any of this to be normal, acceptable standards of leadership than I'm very doubtful of any future success in the US Army. An ability to successfully conduct a COIN fight? Oh please.

That is such an over simplification its insulting. Clearly shows you haven't a clue.

The Army Times article is rather self-serving. It does not address the quotes from Col Flynn, McC's public affairs officer, who was at the dinner, and it's curious that Flynn has yet to make any comments about his role in this mess. Seems to me that's he's totally derelict in allowing his junior-level PAO's to mouth-off in such a fashion- if in fact they did. However in typical Army style, they allow McC to retire as a 4-star, nothing happens to Flynn, and the Army blames 'unnamed junior staff' for the entire incident. That's the leadership style that brought us Jessica Lynch, Pat Tillman, Abu Gharab, Wanat, and FOB Keating - no wonder they find it difficult to recruit soldiers //

Is the "mouse trap" comment referring to me, or am I misunderstanding? I simply posted the article so people could read it.

"mouse trap"

I do not think so Mouse....Maybe she is referring to the fact McCrystal allowed himself to be pulled under quite dramatically into the darkness by higher officials he related to as "friends and Associates"..What is it they say? when God closes a door..he often times show you the window with a different view...McCrystal will surprise us no doubt....
We will deal with whatever happens,,it still could be years but it is coming...Take care of yourselves.......sending hugs....Clare

"Okay, just thought it was odd that "mouse" was the only word in quotes, when the actual term is mouse trap. Thanks for the feedback, you guys."

We have your back Katsu....Maybe because mouse trap has two words..putting emphasis on "Mouse" to solidify the point being made was simply a natural occurence...I read no ill intentions in this..so be at peace my good friend....Love you..sending hugs..Clare
So sorry...directed at Jar head. I must be more meticulous when posting. . .lost in translation sometimes.

I don't think the mouse trap is in reference to you .... more aim at the "bait and beat" comment I left for the Jar head reporter.
