Branden, I'm the father of Pruitt Rainey who was KIA in the OP in the Battle of Wanat. He and 8 others gave their lives fighting for that area. He was there from May 07' to July 13, 2008 when he was killed in Waygal. He and I talked as much as possible by phone and email on what was going on there in the valleys. In fact, I spent hours on the phone will Bill Ostlund over the past 18 months concerning Korengal and Waygal. I as a parent appreciate what you done there and thank you for your service. I'm a proactive person, like my son Pruitt, who agree we should have taken the war to the Taliban. FCUK them all. I have never been more insulted when I watched the video of the Taliban walking around freely and set up their base in Bella. I have studied the 15-6 military report, the Cubbison report and all the Gun ship tapes, 8 hours of them, showing the entire battle where my son was killed. For the Army and Ostlund to close this OP and for the Army, McChrystal, to close the Korengal, pisses me off so much. I know how you feel even though I wasn't there, but my son Pruitt was. I would love to know your opinion on what happen over there on a personal level. Myself with 4 other parents personally went to the DOD and CENTCOM asking for another independent investigation into Wanat specifically the decisions of Ostlund and his commanders in closing the Waygal and Korengal Valley. It was granted by the DOD and headed up by General Petraeus. You may know that now 3 of the commanders have been serious reprimanded and are all still under formal investigation by Congress and the DOD. We have been promissed these results since it was completed on Jan 21, 2010. we still do not have them but again have been promissed by June 1st for which we will all fly to Washington to receive this 4000 page formal investigation report. Shit will hit the fan when released.

Also, I'm meeting these parents and some of the other soldiers who lived through all this, in Columbus GA at Fort Benning on June 1st for the official 173rd Airborne Memorial opening and dedication of the KIA's which one is my son.

dateline NBC with Tom keenan will air and run their investiagtion into all this very soon after the memorial. The story has to be told just like Battle Company's. Chosen Company gave it their all just like you did and I, we appreciate it so much.

Sincerely, A Heroes Father

Frankie
