Marines march past the distinguished guests during the Marine Corps' 232nd Birthday Ceremony on Nov. 8, 2007. The U.S. Marine Corps was organized on Nov. 10, 1775 as naval infantry; responsible for the security of ships and crew by conducting offensive and defensive combat operations during boarding actions during the Revolutonary War.
