"This is such a great idea. And I love the care you took in thinking about what to include: you clearly thought about what might appeal to them. I'm going to see if I can get the members of my forum interested in taking this up."

After having read the book a few months ago (I work for the publisher), I felt both inspired and compelled to send care packages. Brendan gave me the site www.anysoldier.com and told me to click on 'Where to Send' then 'Any Soldier Addresses'. I wanted to send to 2nd Platoon in Italy, so I chose 'Italy' as 'Where Unit Is From,' but this site allows you to send to any soldier anywhere. I was thrilled to spend my tax refund on this great cause! See More

The "S" is for "sycophant". I'm typing this in that invisible Russian ink. How'm I doin'?

It was an incredible experience. I don't think I've ever been in a movie theatre that was that quiet before. And the Museum of Fine Arts was such an elegant, special place to have the screening. You know, after consistently being pulled and poked and prodded in one direction or another by various movies and documentaries, it was refreshing - and kind of an odd experience - to just incorporate 90 minutes of such riveting information, and then be left to my own mind to sort it out. You know? I think that's just one more of Restrepo's gifts. It gets our deadened American brains thinking again.

Plus, it was fantastic (and unexpected!) having Dan Kearney there at the Q&A. I even asked a question! Check me out!! : ) lol
