Let me make a suggestion for any reissue of Restrepo or any transcoding to a new format. You need a complete recaptioning of the documentary from start to finish. The captioning on the DVD wasn’t really captioning; it was a kind of half-assed same-language subtitling that, first of all, didn’t position captions to show who’s speaking, refused to caption many chunks of dialogue (especially radio communications), and simply mistranscribed and misspelled words. The odd thing is that the job was…See More
