The 2nd Annual Semper Fi 5K Race/Walk will be held on Saturday July 2, 2011 in Washington, DC. All proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides crucial medical and financial assistance to wounded U.S. servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as to their families.

There are many wonderful condolence letters and memories of Tim at www.timhetherington.org -- but none moved me so much as this one, from Barbara Davidson at the Milton Margai School in Sierra Leone. I never knew about this chapter in Tim's life, and it gives an intimate look at a side of Tim few of us knew. Long live the memory of "Uncle Tim."

The Hetherington family has named three charities where one can make donations in Tim's memory, and asked that I share them with all of you.
