I recently finished WAR and it didn't take me long.
I picked up WAR thanks to Armstrong and Getty, a morning talk show here in SF who repeatedly mentioned the book for a variety of reasons. I typically read books about events that occurred during or prior to WWII. Excellent work, your story brings back memories
I cant say enough how much I respect the grunts you were with and the one's there now, along with yourself, it was a great sacrifice to get the story, your wife is a saint. The grunts have balls the size of grapefruits. I flew the A-10 for 20 years and spent time"over" Bosnia, Kuwait and Iraq. My former unit the 104FS of Baltimore, MD Air National Guard spent time over the Korengal. I always loved strafing and bombing the enemy in contact with friendlies.

Hope for Treating Trauma - My letter post to Junger Re: EMDR Therapy
To All those suffering from PTSD, I wanted to share this information about EMDR. I sent this letter to Sebastian in hopes that he will pass this on to those he knows are suffering. Hope all those who shared their story in Restrepo are doing well. I was so moved by this film, and also concerned for their rightful return to literal "peace in the mind."

What's Annoying Me Today: War (and Peace) Get No Respect
So this morning Daughter and I were at the breakfast table. We were both tired, and I was reading the paper and on the front was a picture of Libyan rebels with RPGs and a sundry of weaponry. I casually mentioned that I wasn't sure who was funding their acquisition. She asked me the difference between an RPG and a hand grenade. We talked about that for just a bit. She got it. So much for the usual pleasantries.
