A Price to Be Paid

Love to Tim and Sebastian

Dear Sebastian:

I cried when I heard about Tim.  I have not personally met you, but have heard you interviewed many times and feel like I know you.  I am so deeply sorry for Tim's loved ones, including you..  It is clear that you are devastated.  The world needs brave people like Tim and you--courageous souls who bring the truth to those of us who who are unable to find out for ourselves what is going on.

For Tim: The Promise Still Stands



This is hard. This morning, three phone calls came in at once. My friend Tim Hetherington has died, while covering the war in Libya. The worst thing about being a writer is sometimes you have to pen elegies for your friends.
