Sebastian's Coffee Fix

In Sebastian's book WAR, he goes into great detail about finding a cup of coffee at COP Restrepo.

"Coffee at Restrepo was a problem because no one drank it so you were more or less on your own in that regard. Certain MREs include packets of coffee, powdered milk, and sugar, but I found it hard to remember which ones they were --as opposed to, say, the breakfast tea or cider mix --and that meant pawing through the…

RESTREPO on Comast On Demand

Catch this incredible film via Comcast On Demand!

  • HD on Demand
  • History and Nature
  • NatGeo Channel

I will watch it again even though I don't have HD. Nothing makes me more proud of our troops than watching these awesome American men live and fight in a most dangerous place.

I placed a call to the Regal Entertainment Group HQ this week and asked them to bring… Continue

Validation

Validation is an awesome feeling. It's the world's reminder that you are good, have done good, are a terrific person, a hard worker, a great mom, dad, brother, sister, husband, wife, friend, soldier, writer or documentarian. Having explored many facets of the Vietnam war and veterans experiences, this year PBS started asking people to share how these wars --Iraq and Afghanistan have shaped their lives. Writing for one of the big dogs (or maybe PBS is a medium size dog… Continue
