I have just finished WAR and watched RESTREPO.  I have also read V.F. articles and other things you have written.  Shortly after I finished WAR I heard of Tim Hetherington's death, and felt that I had lost someone close to me, as your writing brought him alive in the book.  I know how you truly loved him as a brother, and were devastated by his loss.  Your sensitivity and compassion come through in your writings.  You made war come alive through your descriptions and narrative.  The relationships among the platoon troops were never so real to me as when I read your writings.  You have done a real service to us by making us sensitive to the troops but cynical about the war.  What the hell are we doing over there!  RESTREPO was so well written and filmed without stating the obvious...what the hell were we doing there in the first place!
