Comment by mouse on April 22, 2011 at 2:47am Beautiful and raw. I'm spinning just thinking about how such a tribute could have been written so well, so soon.
Sebastian, for those of us who did not personally know Tim, our grief is for your loss, as well as what the world has lost. We have one less protector, one less guardian, one less steward of the Truth. It is a terrible blow.
I am deeply, deeply sorry.
Truly from the heart. The only place it can come from right now.
Please let us know if there's an organization Tim favored so we can donate in his honor and memory.
Peace to us all,
Becca Bryan

I believe most of us are in awe of Sebastian's ability to function in the heat of this emotional battle. "How does he perform so gloriously in the midst of this horror ?" The same way heros in war perform. They themselves are at a loss to explain extraordinary actions or recognize their own bravery. It's what Sebastian and Tim have taught us. It is not about the HOW; it is about the WHY. The awesome power of brotherly love.

Comment by nina9 on April 23, 2011 at 10:02pm Dear Mr.Junger,
I have not read a book from cover to cover in 3 days for years until I bought your book last Saturday. I was shocked to see the news about Tim Hetherington just as I made it to the end of the book.
It made me appreciate the value of doing good work in this world and for me the type of work that you and Mr. Hetherington do is truly good work...
Much of my work involves dealing with cases of child sex abuse and human trafficking and I have been suffering from anxiety and depression so most of all 'Thank You' for showing me that I have the ability to concentrate again...
Your remembrance piece on Mr.Hetherington is so personal, sad yet lovely, thank you for sharing . Be comforted that you have converted one more person to becoming a Tim Hetherington disciple (his pictures are just so wonderful and clear and illuminating)..and of course I will now try to read EVERYthing you have ever written.
Be well, heal steadily.
